Prairie Creek Mine Site

Project Description

The Prairie Creek Mine Site is a partially-developed zinc/lead/silver property located in the Northwest Territories (NWT) of Canada. The mine is owned entirely by the Canadian Zinc Corporation (CZN) and is currently held under ‘care and maintenance’ restrictions.

In December 2011, CZN successfully completed a four year environmental assessment process for the project and continues to advance the Prairie Creek Project towards receiving the necessary permits to commence mining.

RGC was retained in 2007 to assess groundwater and surface water quality impacts by ARD and assist in the completion of CZN’s Developer’s Assessment Report and continues to assist CZN in contaminant characterization and routine environmental monitoring.
