Suncor Tailings Reduction Operations (TRO)
Project Description
Suncor’s Tailings Reduction Operations (TRO) project objective is to accelerate the drying process of mature fine tailings to facilitate a solid product suitable for reclamation. The general scope of RGC’s involvement includes:
- Geotechnical and tailings investigations related to the dewatering and drying of flocculated oil sands tailings including water balance and strength testing at laboratory, bench, and field scales
- Consultation on design and operation of containment facilities
